A warm welcome to Mark McKie who has re-joined the business in an exciting role as Project Engineer. Principally, he is coordinating rail projects to deliver to specification, on time and within budget. His responsibilities cover monitoring project milestones, coordinating stakeholders and supporting detailed technical documentation.
A key contact for Petards’ engineering teams and customers, Mark is working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure technical compliancy and rail safety regulations are met consistently.
Earlier, Mark spent a decade developing his career at Petards Rail, joining as an apprentice Test Technician and moving upward from Test Technician & Cell Leader to Service Engineer. Following a position as a Service Engineer Team Leader for a West Midlands based manufacturer, Mark returned to the firm.
He told us: “It was great to gain experience outside Petards, but I missed the fast pace of the business and being involved with the delivery of complex tech projects. When I saw the opportunity for a Project Engineer had come up, I jumped at the chance to apply. I’m very pleased to be appointed.”
Mark’s line manager, is Geoff Collins, Head of Operations & Compliance who said: “Mark has a great skill set, and a high performing aptitude for problem solving and driving time critical and budget driven projects to fruition. He is a major asset to the team to our clients.”
