Judges of the awards cited our web-based platform for editing, validating, approving and distributing our Automatic Selective Door Operation (ASDO) Database over the air, as revolutionary in the way it enables train fleets to respond to infrastructure changes.

When awarding the company as Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer, the judges felt our ambitious sustainability targets for 2030, our commitment to maintaining EcoVadis Platinum rating and our ongoing improvement across all ESG pillars were what made us a stand-out candidate.

We were also shortlisted in the highly competitive Manufacturing Future Talent category and our apprentice, Logan Cook, was shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year. This was the first time that Petards Rail has been shortlisted in the Made in the North East Awards.

There were nine awards in total presented at the regional awards dinner, with all winners being invited to the national Made in the UK awards, which will be held in Liverpool in June.
